Pre-Spring ’13 at Chanel: Practical? Bingo. Boring? Never! While the collection, a hybrid of rock ‘n’ roll and French rococo was revealed in the garden of Versailles back in May, boasted poufy pastel skirts and ornate embellishments, the shoes are made for bouncing around and letting loose. A plethora of platform kicks took over the show!
Sneaker fever shows no sign of slowing down, thanks to Chanel’s black-leather camellias, which cover the streetwise trainer for a feminine wink. If more traditional is more your speed, versatile cork will ease you into spring, by way of a cap-toe bootie or a red suede sandal, equally classic. Rarely is a flat a major standout in my book, but the metal chains, interlaced with leather, on these sandals (in navy and red) will complement my classic Chanel bags perfectly! It’s an approachable array, save for those wild sneakers – which I think would look divine with a pair of beaten-up, boyfriend jeans and a bouclé-tweed blazer, for the ultimate modern Chanel girl.
